Austrian officials arrest 30 linked to terror attack while narrowing down the role of Muslim Brotherhood

After the horrific attack in Vienna, Austria, the authorities of the European countries are taking stricter steps to counter-terror movement within the country. Australian police carried out raids on November 9 when intel revealed operating areas of the groups that worked on behalf of the terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

The Austrian government had confirmed that the officers had made close to 30 arrests in 60 raids within a week under the anti-terrorism law of the country. "The suspicion is of belonging to a terrorist organization, financing terrorism, association against the state, criminal organization and money laundering," asserted the prosecutor’s office in the southern city of Graz.

On further investigation, it was revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood was in fact in contact with the terrorist groups that caused the attack and killed four civilians and injured 23. The attack began on November 2 where a lone gunman opened fire in the historic city center, a populous place in the country.

A day later after the incident, police carried out search operations where they went through apartments linked to the perpetrators and found a stockpile of ammunition, which reportedly was handed over to them by the Muslim Brotherhood. The officials then stated that the attack was an act of extreme Islamism.

The ministers have said that there are ideological threats in the country which are proving to be fatal for the citizens. Among those who share this point of view are Austria's Interior Minister Karl Nehammer and the country's lead counter-extremism minister Susanne Raab.

Earlier reports published by foreign media groups confirmed that the dangerous terror organization is being g=heavily funded by Qatar and motivated by Turkey, who are attempting to gain power over the world through extreme measures.

The government in Austria has been very assertive on its stand against terrorism and after the attack on the capital city last, it has come out with stronger measures. The officials proposed convicting a person for life if charged for terror offense and specifically criminalizing religiously motivated related crimes. In wake of these attacks, the government has also resorted to banning ‘political Islam’ and shutting down mosques.

To go back a few years, experts have realized that Austria and the Muslim Brotherhood share an unfortunate bond with each other. Hamas, that symbolizes Muslim Brotherhood’s presence in Palestine, has called Austria their home, says a report commissioned by the Austrian authorities, and documented by Lorenzo Vidino, a university scholar.

One of the problems that still continues to threaten Austria even after it passing legislation prohibiting receipts of funds and donations from abroad is the Turkish presence inside its borders. The country has tried fighting this battle against terrorism with full conviction but Turkish infiltrations have threatened the peace of the country. Turkey supposedly works with infiltering radical ideas and mindsets among Austrian society and converting them in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood. It receives a lot of support from Qatar, which has been known to fund such radical attacks and mindsets.

Before being struck upon the fundings and donations coming from foreign countries, Austria saved itself from danger when it closed one of the NGOs receiving funding from Qatari royals.
