Sharif Hassan: “President FARMAJO sewed a jacket for himself”

Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Former South West state President Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden has responded to recent remarks by Deputy Prime Minister Mahad Mohamed Guledthat the next election will be won in the first round. He described the deputy prime minister as a fictional figure which nothing of the truth.

Sharif Hassan also accused President Farmajo of wanting to run alone, saying he had seen a man who ran alone. He accused him of illegally manipulating the National Electoral Commissions.

"Mahdi Guled said in Baidoa we have one round one of the election. What happened in Baidoa was known. People were arrested. We know what happened next In Galmudug, although there were people who were happy, what happened was known, Jowhar. There were people who were happy with what happened and it was known,” said Sharif Hassan.

Controversy continues over Somalia's electoral commissions. International calls are being made for governments to find a lasting solution to the electoral dispute. It is clear that Farmajo has been defeated in the election campaign and we are standing alone.

ShariifHasan also accused  President Mohamed AbdullahiFarmajo of not being ready for elections, but of wanting to run for office alone and that is never possible. "Farmajo sewed a shirt the size of his own."

"I have been in the Somali government since Arta. I have not seen an election that ends in a single round. We have seen a desperate election that requires several rounds, so we have rejected a one-round election," Sharif Hassan said.

Former South West President Sharif Hassan made the remarks at a conference in Mogadishu on the fourth day of the presidential election.

The conference is set to conclude in the next few hours, with a joint statement from the candidates and other rejoining members, with the main issue being the committees selected to administer the election said they included members of NISA and government officials
