Bidens changes wave of Trump’s policies, Palestinians have no problem with it

The United States President Joe Biden has been making changes in most of Trump’s policies and the world leaders are divided over it. Some see this as a new age development while others call it economically straining.

Palestinians have decided to support the changes that the Biden administration brought after swearing-in on January 20. Recently, the US president announced that it plans to resume ties with the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and restore the aids that the American side provides to the Palestinian people.

This was announced by Richard Mills, who is serving the current term as the US ambassador to the UN. He told the UN security council that the Biden administration wishes to restore the diplomatic ties with Palestine, which will also include the human aids and economic relief options that were provided to the region before the blockade was issued.

The government of the Palestinian land, especially the top leaders including the President, are extremely happy about the announcement. A report revealed that Palestinian spokesman Ibrahim Milhem, President Mahmoud Abbas, and Prime Minister Mahammad Shtayyeh are excited for the new development especially as it ensures the US support favoring the two-state solution.

This move by the US government will likely increase the negotiation between Israel and Palestine. Having said that, nothing can be said for certain as the Israeli PM was a close ally of Donald Trump and the two leaders were seen agreeing on many of the controversial issues between the two countries.

“We are ready to resume diplomatic negotiations with Israel, with the help of international parties, based on international laws and UN resolutions. Any solution, however, that does not take into account Palestinian rights as enshrined by international laws and UN agreements will fail,” said Milhem.

He also noted that any kind of development towards fulfilling resolutions set by the United Nations with regards to Palestine is welcomed by the officials. He further said that one of those mutually agreed resolutions include ending Israel occupying parts of Palestine and snatching away the households of civilians.

Earlier, former president Trump had halted the economic aid provided to Palestinian Authority after PA refused to accept the Trump administration's policies, which according to them, denied Palestinian people their rights. The aid included economic relief packages worth $200 million along with $350 million in humanitarian aid.
