US Elections 2024: Donald Trump Considering Elon Musk as Policy Advisor for White House
Former President Donald Trump is reportedly eyeing Tesla CEO Elon Musk for a potential advisory role in the White House if he wins the 2024 Presidential elections, The Wall Street Journal reports.\
While details remain tentative, discussions between Trump and Musk have centered around the possibility of Musk providing formal input on key issues like border security, the economy, and concerns about voting fraud.
The relationship between Musk, currently the world's third-richest individual, and Trump has been strengthening, with frequent phone conversations occurring "several times a month," as per the WSJ. Musk and billionaire investor Nelson Peltz have also reportedly discussed a campaign initiated by Musk in November to dissuade corporate leaders from supporting President Biden.
Musk, founder of SpaceX and owner of the social media platform X, has publicly voiced his opposition to Biden and stated that he would not financially support any candidate, maintaining a neutral stance. His meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago following Super Tuesday victories reinforced his position as the presumptive Republican nominee.
Despite Musk's historic bipartisan contributions, where he has supported both Republicans and Democrats, he has not heavily invested in any presidential campaign, as reported by The New York Times. He has divided his contributions roughly equally between the two parties.
In a March post, Musk clarified that he has no plans to donate money to either candidate for US President, further solidifying his stance.
As the 2024 elections approach, Trump and Biden are gearing up for what promises to be a contentious electoral battle. Biden faces challenges on both domestic and foreign policy fronts, including conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, while Trump navigates through multiple ongoing criminal cases."
