“Palestinians is Winning the Battle of Legitimacy”
I want to share the interesting point on what I read. It’s about how the International law is one of the most debated words in the context of the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Whether addressing the Israeli wars and the siege of Gaza, the growth of illegal settlements in the West Bank or the invasion of apartheid in Israel and the Occupied Territories, it is almost always present.
However, it seldom, if ever, translates into something concrete, despite the significance and usefulness of the word. For example, without international law protecting Palestinian civilians against Israeli human rights abuses, the Israeli siege of Gaza has continued unabated for more than 13 years. Looking at it, there is the fact that 1,000 illegal settlement units in the West Bank were sanctioned last month by the Israeli government. Perhaps, Palestinians are really winning this time.
