The Irrefutable Interaction of Turkey’s Two State Plan
This is something compelling about what I read. A strong interaction exists between the Turkish Cypriot elections and the domestic politics of Turkey. The ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey is in desperate need of a success story in order to increase its support ahead of the next general election scheduled for 2023. In addition to this, both the ruling party and the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), this support is significant.
Let’s look at this, The latter is not a partner in the alliance, but the AKP is unlikely to achieve a parliamentary majority without its support. The government would therefore do whatever it can to facilitate a two-state solution for Cyprus, which would be very popular with the nationalist parts of the electorate in Turkey and would support both the ruling party and the MHP.
