Trump continues gathering people in his rallies despite Covid threat
There are just 48 hours to the United States getting either a new president or Trump will continue for five more years. But as things wrap up, Donald Trump along with the first lady Melania Trump has been campaigning in crowded places relentlessly.
This is happening after a lot of public places and large events are not allowed in the US. The current president has been holding mass rallies even as his opposition and health experts have been warning and discouraging Trump’s activities.
This month saw both the presidential candidates clash over various issues but the issue that mostly dominated these debates was the coronavirus handling by the present Trump administration. Trump was criticized for downplaying the virus attack and repeatedly has been the target of the opposition Joe Biden.
As per a report in Reuters, Trump has been telling his supporters that even if they contract the virus, they will get better just as he did. This has left no fear or precautionary measure among people.
Biden also left no opportunity to quickly criticize Trump for his comments and holding these rallies as he said that holding these huge rallies will only make people more susceptible to catching coronavirus.
The problem is that even while holding the rallies, Trump has chosen to completely ignore people avoiding wearing masks. This has increased the risk of contracting the virus. At the start of these campaigns, Biden has called these rallies “super-spreader events”.
Several of the opinion polls have declared that Biden has a clear lead over Trump and even in the game-changer states, Biden has a lead by a narrow margin but the same was predicted by news channels in 2015 when Hilary Clinton was against Trump and the latter emerged as the president of the United States. This makes it difficult to predict anything now.
According to a report in the Associated Press, Jennifer Granston said, “The narratives related to Kamala Harris zeroed in much more on her personal identity, especially as a woman of color.” Spreading misinformation has been one of the major causes of concerns this election and Vice President candidate Kamala Harris has been receiving it more than her male counterpart. Trump has been notoriously building up these misconceptions. This may change the way people think and impact elections.
On November 3, 2020, the US will decide its leader and representative, who will be holding the office for the next five years.
