AMQC met to discover ways to address Tehran’s interference in the Arab nations
On Wednesday, the Arab Ministerial Quartet Committee (AMQC) met to
examine ways to address the continuous interference by Iran in the internal
issues of Arab nations.
Saudi Arabia's diplomat to Egypt and representative to the Arab League Osama Bin Ahmed Naqli represented the Kingdom in place of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan in the meeting.
The conference occurred in Cairo and was led by the UAE Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar. Many other ministers that participated were Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Bahrain's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Dossary.
In May 2020, the Arab League stressed that the requirement for Iran's relations with Arab nations to be based on respecting the standards of international law, including state sovereignty, working on being good neighbors, and refrain from utilizing any form of threat, terrorism, or force in the region.
The Saudi press agency announced that AMQC examined ways to upgrade collaboration and joint coordination to oppose Iranian terror-based practices and battle its militant arms that spread devastation and obliteration in the Arab region.
They additionally evaluated "the significance of fortifying work with the global community to prevent the Iranian atomic program, which risks global harmony and security of the entire world and especially the Arab region.
