Indian-Origin Technology Executive Is Helping Elon Musk To Revamp Twitter
Sriram Krishnan, an Indian-origin technology executive, is helping Elon Musk to revamp the social media giant, Twitter. Krishnan, a general partner at Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has said that he is “helping out” Musk.
He wrote on Twitter, “I'm helping out Elon Musk with Twitter temporarily with some other great people. I (and a16z) believe this is a hugely important company and can have a great impact on the world and Elon is the person to make it happen.”
According to his profile on Andreessen Horowitz's website, Krishnan served on the boards of companies Bitski, Hopin, and Polywork. He held numerous senior product roles. He also created and oversaw various mobile ad products for Snapchat and Facebook, including Snap's Direct Response ads business and the Facebook Audience Network.
Last week, the world’s richest man completed the USD 44 billion acquisition of Twitter. After acquiring the social media company, he ousted chief executive officer (CEO) Parag Agrawal, legal executive Vijaya Gadde, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ned Segal, and General Counsel, Sean Edgett.
After acquiring Twitter, Musk has planned various initiatives to revamp the social media giant. Recently, the New York Times reported that Musk “planned to begin laying off workers” at Twitter.
Another report claimed that Musk planned to charge Twitter users $20 (£17.30) a month or $240 a year for a blue tick on their Twitter account. According to the tech newsletter Platformer. Verified Twitter users would have 90 days to sign up to Blue tick or lose their check mark.
Musk made a bid to buy the social media giant for USD 44 billion in April. Later on, Musk backed away from the deal, alleging that the social media giant gave him wrong information about bot accounts on the platform. Consequently, Twitter sued Musk in order to force him to complete his deal at the agreed price.
