IAEA resolves nuclear issues with Iran: Report
Iranian media said on Tuesday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the world's "Atoms for Peace and Development" organization within the United Nations (UN), had settled nuclear concerns with the Islamic Republic of Iran pertaining to one of three locations under investigation for the existence of uranium enrichment.
A source spoke to the semi-official Mehr news agency about the matter. The agency stated that the case regarding the discovery of uranium particles at a location in Iran with a purity of 83.7 has been resolved.
In advance of its 35-nation Board of Governors' regular meeting next week, the UN agency is scheduled to release quarterly reports on the Islamic Republic of Iran this week.
Earlier, the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, expressed concern over the recent unilateral changes at the Fordow nuclear plant, an underground uranium enrichment facility near Fordow village.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency urged authorities to monitor Iran’s nuclear program and the Fordow nuclear plant.
Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant has been a major concern for the UN in recent months. Earlier, an IAEA report highlighted the interconnection between two cascades of advanced IR-6 centrifuges at the Fordow plant in the Islamic nation.
Later on, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany expressed concern about the IAEA report. The four countries alleged that Iran was inconsistent in meeting its obligations under a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty agreement.
Earlier, IAEA also expressed concern after manmade uranium particles, which were found at three undeclared sites in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In September last year, Grossi held a meeting with the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, Mohammad Eslami. They discussed issues at three undeclared locations in Iran. Grossi slammed Iran over the "presence of uranium particles of anthropogenic origin” at three sites in Iran.
