Saudi Arabia has approved uniform for taxi, transport app drivers

The Saudi Transport General Authority has unveiled a uniform for drivers of public transportation, airport taxis, and private hire taxis, as well as drivers of passenger transportation applications.

Drivers in these positions will be required to wear a uniform beginning July 12.

According to the norms of the regulations controlling taxi and taxi intermediary activity, a uniform is required.

According to the TGA, uniforms will help to increase development efforts and improve the quality of transportation services.

The decision was made as part of upgrades and improvements to taxi and passenger transportation programs, which included adjustments to taxi technical criteria.

For taxi customers, the TGA has also implemented electronic payment systems.

The authority stated that it is eager to serve beneficiaries and is working to attain the highest quality standards in transportation services across Saudi Arabia's regions.

Those interested in its services are encouraged to go to tga.gov.sa to see the details of the approved uniform. The public can also get further information by dialing the unified number 19929.
