Arab, pan-African parliamentary leaders discuss working together on shared interests

Tuesday saw a meeting between Chief Fortune Charumbira, the president of the Pan-African Parliament, and Adel bin Abd al-Rahman al-Asoumi, the president of the Arab Parliament.

According to a statement from the Arab Parliament, the authorities got together in Algeria during the Conference of the Union of Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The two sides discussed their respective regional and global objectives and decided to fully coordinate their efforts in support of all Arab and African issues in international fora.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament declared that the Arab and African continents share many characteristics that help them work together on similar problems, including the Palestinian conflict and the Libyan situation.
