Elon Musk confirms the rolling-out of new Twitter features
Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, has confirmed the rolling out of new features for the micro-blogging site. Musk confirmed changes for the ‘bookmark’ button, image length crop, and more.
Musk reportedly said, “Bookmark button moving to tweet details page, fixing image length crop and other minor bug fixes next week.” He revealed that bookmarks would be made ‘searchable’. He would also bring changes to Twitter's ‘recommended’ section.
He also said that the “new UI coming this week" would make the ‘recommended’ section “much better.” The tech billionaire reportedly said that upcoming changes to the social networking site would make it “easy to create folders to bookmark tweets into various categories.”
On Saturday, Twitter said that it would soon launch a verification service for organizations. The subscribers would get business accounts and affiliation badges through Twitter's self-serve administrative portal.
Twitter has also started offering free ads to the brands which advertise on its platforms. Musk adopted this strategy to woo big brands back to the social media platform.
After taking over Twitter, Musk announced the verification service for the social media platform called Twitter Blue. The blue tick showed that a Twitter user's handle was verified. The gold tick replaced the official label for business accounts on Twitter while the grey checkmark identified accounts of governments and government organizations. The subscribers who selected the verification service got access to the “Edit Tweet” feature, along with higher quality video uploads (1,080p) and a ‘reader mode.’
Recently, Musk has been in the limelight. Musk is also slated to face trial on Tuesday for allegedly manipulating the stock market with his tweet in 2018. In 2018, Musk tweeted that he had sufficient funding to take Tesla private, affecting the company's share price. His tweet already attracted the attention of authorities.
Earlier, the US stock market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission, ordered Musk to step down as chairman of the board of Tesla.
